Vocational
training designed to give the individual the skills needed to be successful in
work. §
Employment
opportunities that match the person, and their unique skills with community
based employment. §
Independent
living skills needed to be involved and active in their community. §
Supported
Living that allows persons to live in the community and receive needed supports. §
Assisted
Living which provide periodic support for persons who desire to live
independently as possible in their community. §
Personal
care services which provide qualified care providers on a one to one basis for
person with developmental disabilities to enhance their daily living skills. §
Respite
services which provide primary caregivers and families with the opportunity to
take a break from the endeavors of daily care for a disabled family member. These services are provided in accordance with the
eligibility criteria established by the State of New Mexico Department of
Health, Long Term Services Division, Developmental Disabilities Medicaid Waiver
Program. Training and employment opportunities are provided
through the operation of an individual supported employment program that matches
consumers to available jobs within the community.
Persons are provided with the individual supports needed to be successful
in this community employment. Service offered and provided by Zuni Entrepreneurial
Enterprises Inc. are provided through a contract for services and provider
agreement with the State of New Mexico Department of Health.
Persons referred to the agency will need to complete an appropriate
application for services and must meet the definition of developmentally
disabled. This definition is
provided as follows: A severe and chronic disability attributable to
mental or physical impairment that is manifested before the person reaches age
twenty-two and is likely to continue indefinitely. In addition, there must be substantial functional limitations
on three or more of the following major life activities.
Persons diagnosed as mentally retarded, cerebral
palsied, epileptic or autistic and have at least one limitation as noted above
are considered developmentally disabled. Services are provided to developmentally disabled
adults residing within the Zuni Indian reservation and southern McKinley County.
The program is certified by National Industries for the Severely Handicapped Inc. (NISH) and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Services provided by ZEE Inc. are on a fee for
service basis based on income. It
must be noted that under no circumstances will any individual in need by turned
away due to lack of financial resources. The
agency will also assist the eligible individual with locating appropriate fee
sponsorships. Persons diagnosed as mentally retarded, cerebral
palsied, epileptic or autistic and have at least one limitation as noted above
are considered developmentally disabled.
